    Mid- to late- Carnival on the French side of the island/Carnival Queen election. Big parades of floats with musical animations, mostly steel band

Ash Wednesday- Black and White jump-up; burning of king Mou-Mou (Vaval); night parade with torches.
Early- Heineken Regatta: Big sail boat race.
Mid-to late- Mi-Careme (Mid-Lent): Red and Black street parade on St. Martin. The red symbolizes the carnival spirit and the black symbolizes the mourning for the Lenten season.
End of the month- St.Martin/St.Maarten Angers Annual Big Fishing Tournament.

April  
    Early- History Day: display of historical documents with tour guides; photo competition.
End of the Month- Carnival on the Dutch side of the island.
May  
    1st- Labor Day, Public Holiday both sides
8th- Celebration of the victory of World War II

1st- All Saints Day (Public holiday): all cemeteries are illuminated with candles; Colombier Feast.
11th- Feast of St. Martin / Concordia Day / Armistice Day: the date of Columbus' first encounter with the island in 1493
